Finally, Facebook Messenger allows you to quote messages in chat rooms

Facebook launches today the rollout of a new update for Facebook Messenger whose only purpose is to add a long-awaited but expected functionality for a messaging application.

From today, finally, even  Facebook Messenger can count on the citing of messages within conversations: now, therefore, it is possible to quote and respond to specific messages, just as it has been for some time in other applications of this type (just think of WhatsApp).

 

To quote a message is rather simple and immediate, fortunately: just hold down the message to be cited to see an Answer button with an arrow in the box next to the bar with the reactions.

In this way, the message in question is quoted within the same conversation, without a separate thread being opened. Nothing crazy, mind you, but a very useful feature for group conversations.

The update was announced this evening and will be distributed, both through the Google Play Store and the App Store, over the next few days for everyone, so it may take a little longer before proceeding with the download.
