The proposal of Sony with its more robust models is to leave the device with a more "wide" screen, that is, with the larger sides as it happens in the cinema screens. Thus, both the Xperia 1 and the Xperia 10 and 10 plus models arrive with a ratio of 21: 9.
So let's check if the rumours were right.
Xperia 1
This is the top of the line Sony for the year. The company renamed its XZ models, leaving only the nomenclature of Xperia 1. The Xperia 1 arrives with a screen of 167 millimetres by 72 millimetres, confirming the proportion of 21: 9. That means a 6.57-inch OLED screen, exactly as the rumours pointed out, Gorilla Glass protection and playback capability in 4K and HDR.
Sony's proposal in proportion is to partner with its entertainment studios to offer movies without letterboxing (that black belt that sits above and below the videos).
Sony is also testing and should make available to users after the release of other multitasking functions, allowing more things to stay on the screen at a higher rate. One of these differences is that working with a split screen can also be easier with a higher screen.
The device also has a good focus on photos. At the front, it has an 8 MP lens. In the back, the company confirms leaks that the Xperia 1 would arrive with a triple set of sensors. The smartphone features a wide-angle 12 MP and optical stabilization; a TV also of 12 MP; of another super-wide 12 MP for photo production in proportion to the screen of the device.
The smartphone also has the BIONZ X image processing engine in the company's DSLR. With this, the cameras are capable of recording videos at 4K at 30 fps, in addition to making up to 960 fps in 1080p.
Inside, the Xperia 1 comes equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 chipset. The chipset also brings the Adreno 640 as a graphics card, which allows the optimization of games using a performance improvement technology.
The set arrives in a single option with 6GB of RAM, accompanied by 128GB of internal storage. According to Sony, the storage is also expandable to up to 512 GB with microSD card.
The Xperia 1 also features a digital sensor on the side button and arrives with a USB-C port, sharing it with the earphone. That is, without exclusive entry for the accessory. It arrives with battery of 3.330 mAh and with Android Pie.
The device will reach the market even in the first half of this year with a price of US $ 1,110, approximately R $ 4,160.
Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus
These are the two midline versions of Sony, acting as successors of the Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra.
As with Xperia 1, there is also a 21: 9 screen here. Thus the Xperia 10 arrives with 6 inches, while the Plus has 6.5. Both handsets have LCD display and are capable of playing videos in FHD +.
In terms of cameras, the Xperia 10 has two sensors in the back with 13 MP and 5 MP, plus 8 MP front. In contrast, the Xperia 10 Plus comes with 13 MP and 8 MP on the back, the latter with optical zoom; and a 12 MP for selfies.
The Xperia 10 comes equipped with a Snapdragon 630 also with eight cores and 3 GB of RAM. The Plus has Snapdragon 636, Adreno 509 GPU and 4 GB of RAM.
Another difference is in the battery, with 2,870 mAh for the standard version and 3,000 mAh for Plus.
Otherwise, both handsets are the same. So they have 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 512GB), digital reader on the side and Android Pie.
The two models begin selling in the North American market in black and silver from March 18 for $ 349 (~ $ 1,300) for Xperia 10 and $ 429 (~ $ 1,600) for the Xperia 10 Plus.
