OnePlus 3 and 3T advance to Android 9 Pie via Geekbench

When OnePlus announced that it would bring Android 9 Pie on the OnePlus 3 and 3T many were surprised: the two were announced in 2016, and despite almost three years of age may not seem so many a technology enthusiast knows that for phones launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallows represent almost an era.

A smartphone that, three years after its launch, is updated to the latest version of the operating system after two macro updates is a rarity for the Android world. Quickly serve the OxygenOS based on the latest release of the green robot to the OnePlus of 2017 and 2018, now the Shenzhen company has more time to make that promise.

And the work, in fact, proceed. To testify him two steps on Geekbench by work of both OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, both with Android 9 Pie on board. The two are currently "stuck" at the OxygenOS 5.0.8 based on Android 8.0 Oreo and released in late November with security patches of the same month.

The company has preferred to "skip" the update to Android 8.1 Oreo considering it more profitable to work on the last major release. It should not miss much at the time of release. We will keep you posted.
