How to set Mac cooling speed via Macs Fan Control

If you have a laptop from Apple, especially a modern model, then you are probably surprised at how thin computers have become. Despite this, inside the Mac, there is still a cooling system for the central and graphics processors.

By default, Apple's cooling system works as quietly as possible, but there are some downsides to this. Thin devices like the MacBook Pro are very prone to overheating because of their compact size. It really feels when you put the laptop on your lap.

Overheating of the device is harmful for several reasons:

  • You burn if you hold the laptop on your lap.

  • The central and graphics processors deteriorate faster.

  • The performance of the processors falls.

Fortunately, you can solve the problem by manually setting the fan speed through the free third-party Macs Fan Control program. With it, you can make the cooling of your device much more efficient.

How to set the cooling rate Mac

When you first launch the Macs Fan Control program, you will notice a cooler speed control panel, as well as a real-time temperature.

By default, the Mac fan speed is 2000 to 2100 rpm, which is very good. However, this may still be small.

Click the Custom ... button to enter your revolutions.

You can change the cooling rate of the central and graphics processors separately.

When you close the program, it will appear in the device menu, from where it will always be easy to access.

Through the panel in the menu you can also change the speed of the cooler and the settings of the program, but you will not see the temperature in real time until you open the program in a full window.

There are not so many settings in Macs Fan Control. You can:

  • Run Macs Fan Control automatically with system startup.

  • Check for updates automatically.

  • Switch between degrees Celsius (C) and Fahrenheit (F).

  • Change the language of the program.

  • Change the theme of the panel in the menu.

When you increase the fan speed on your Mac, it will start to work louder, but its temperature will become significantly lower. This is an equal fee. However, it is worth considering that the higher the cooling rate, the more energy it consumes. So do not be surprised if your laptop's battery runs out faster.

Macs Fan Control can be downloaded free of charge for both MacOS and Windows BootCamp. You can do it on the Links below:
