How to find out the serial number of iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max

If you have already bought the new iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max, then the lack of support for horizontal mode by the home screen is not your only problem. Apple has complicated the way to recognize the serial number of the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max.

The serial number is used to register devices with iOS on the Apple Developer Portal for testing applications and installing beta updates. Unfortunately, it is impossible to learn it through iTunes for iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Find out the serial number of earlier models could be as follows:

Connect your iPhone to a Mac or PC with Windows and run iTunes . Select the icon of your smartphone in the window and go to the “Overview” tab. There will be displayed the serial number of your device. By clicking on the inscription "Serial number", you can view other data about the device.

Nevertheless, it is still possible to learn the serial number of the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max. This is done via the Mac.

• Connect your iPhone to Mac.


• Go to the Apple menu and select About This Mac.


• Please Select System Information and then the USB tab.


• Select your iPhone and find the  Serial Number option.

• Copy it. After the 8th character you need to add "-".


• This is the serial number of your iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max.

If you have a PC with Windows, you can use the program iFunBox , and it will be much easier. The iFunBox for Mac does not have serial number information.
