Apple Watch 3 now supports winter sports tracking

Apple finally allowed application developers for Apple Watch to take advantage of opportunities to track activity while skiing and snowboarding. This function appeared in watchOS 4.2 in December, but until this point the developers could not use it in applications.
This function is already available in snoww, Slopes, Squaw Alpine, Snocru, Ski Tracks and a number of other applications. Using the new API, built-in GPS module and altimeter in Watch 3, it is now possible to track vertical descent, distance traveled, number of runs, average and maximum speed and calories burned.
Users will also be able to send burned calorie data to the "Activity" application, just like any other workout. Some applications (for example, Slopes and snoww) support Siri, so you can start tracking activity in them with a voice command.
