LG patented the design of a folding smartphone with a second screen

LG filed a patent for a mobile device with a flexible display for registration with the World Intellectual Property Organization. The document describes two different versions of the design of a folding smartphone, which can be used as a tablet computer.

In the first case, LG suggests placing on the back of the gadget a camera and a small screen for displaying time and other useful information when the device is in a folded state. Unknown is the purpose of another round element at the bottom of the device.

The second option is inherently similar to the first, only an additional display on the smartphone is on the edge, and can be seen only when the gadget is complicated. When closed, the back cover moves, thus opening the outer screen. It also displays time, notifications, and more.

Note that this is not the first patent of LG on a bendable smartphone. It is possible that in the coming years we will see a lot of such devices from different manufacturers.
