imo has 500 million downloads in the Google Play Store

The "imo" app has reached incredible numbers on the Google Play Store today. The messaging and video application has reached the fantastic number of 500 million downloads worldwide. Note that these numbers will still have to add the downloads made in the Apple App Store.

The application, developed in 2010 by former Google employees, promised to bring all the messages in one place. From messages from Facebook, SMS, Google Talk, Skype or even the old, but very famous, MySpace.

Over time the application has been shaping the needs of users and instead of being a message aggregator, it has become a messaging service. Such as WhatsApp, Telegram or Facebook Messenger.

The application is simple and effective. He does what he promises and does not invent much. At the end of the day, that's what matters. According to AndroidRank "imo" is one of the most used applications in Singapore, India, Sweden, Russia, and Bangladesh.

Although you have a weak presence in Africa, if you're fed up with the crappy messaging apps you have, I'm sure you'll like this one. As I mentioned, it's simple, lightweight and works without problems.

"Imo" is free in the Google Play Store

At a time when there are so many messaging applications solutions, you're only trapped in an ecosystem if you want.I already used "imo" a few years ago, then I migrated to BlackBerry and left the service for the well-known BlackBerry Messenger.

It is true that you will be sad after installing the app and see that none of your contacts have the app installed, however, it is perhaps one of the ways you have to bring to the application those people who really want to keep in touch.

You can download the app here in the Google Play Store and here for the Apple Store.
