Hackers broke the latest version of Denuvo

A group of hackers CPY announced the hacking of the current anti-piracy technology Denuvo 4.8. Now in free access on the torrent you can find Sonic Forces, which uses the latest version of the protection. Therefore, in the near future one should expect the appearance of a lot of AAA projects on the trackers, released at the end of 2017 and under the protection of Denuvo.

Version 4.8 was used in many great games of recent months - Assassin's Creed Origins, Football Manager 2018, Need for Speed ?? Payback, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Injustice 2 and Star Ocean: The Last Hope HD Remaster. Their defense lasted almost three months. By the way, the "crack" for Sonic Forces starts the platformer only bypassing Denuvo. This means that even after hacking, protection continues to run in the background, and there should not be a tangible increase in performance. In addition, Assassin's Creed Origins uses VMProtect in conjunction with 4.8, and it's not yet known when it will be bypassed.

In this regard, it is interesting to observe how the publishers behave. Will they use Denuvo in the next releases after such news? Will they remove protection from hacked projects, as many have done before? Given the not-so-good reputation of the program after losing access to the games due to server problems, performance degradation and unexpectedly fast cracking, its appeal has dropped noticeably in the eyes of both gamers and gaming companies. If you are interested in how Denuvo has come to life like this, it is highly recommended to read our last year's, but still relevant, long ride on the topic. Be that as it may, the struggle between defence and pirates continues. And the first, it seems, again began to take positions.
