How to set any song as ringtone in iOS 11

One of the most vexing problems faced by iOS users, this is a complex process of creating and installing ringtones on the iPhone. On iOS, there is a large collection of standard ringtones, but many prefer to set the phone to their favorite songs.

Fortunately, this can be done, and in this article, we'll show you how to create ringtones via iTunes and install them on iPhone with iOS 11.

How to set any song as ringtone in iOS 11


Step 1:  Connect your iPhone to your computer and open the iTunes.

Step 2:  Select the  Music menu on the left. Open Media Library with all your songs.

Step 3:  Find the song you want to put on a ringtone, click on it right mouse button and select information about the song.

Step 4:  In the new window, go to  Settings, and then click the checkboxes next to the "beginning" and "end". Enter the desired song time you want to use. Then press the OK.

Step 5:  In the library, click on the song, and then in the top menu, go to File> Convert> New version of the AAC. You will see a copy of the song with the same title.

  • Note:  If you do not know which of the songs in AAC format, click on the right mouse button, and view information about the song. On the file, you find a song format.


Step 6:  Now the song you want to add an extensionr, so it can be put on a ringtone. To do this, click on the song, right-click and select  Open in the Finder.

Step 7:  the Finder will open the iTunes folder that contains the song. She will be the extension .m4a. Rename the song, adding at the end .m4r. For example, if the file name was the Helloa, it should be renamed to the Hellor.

Step 8:  Go to iTunes and click on the icon for your device from the menu.

Step 9:  Go to  Sounds.

Step 10:  Drag .m4r song file on the Sounds tab in iTunes.

  • If you do not have the section  Sounds, drag the song in the general device section, and it will appear automatically.


Step 11:  When the ringtone will appear in iTunes, it should be moved, and on the iPhone.

How to set ringtone on iPhone


Step 1:  Open  Settings on the iPhone.

Step 2:  Go to  Sounds.

Step 3:  In the section of sound and vibration patterns, select the type of notification you want to set the ringtone.

Step 4:  A list of all the available ringtones. You created should be at the top of the list. Click on it to establish a call.
