Since this device came out many have been mailing and asking when are we going to port custom rom for the device we keep telling them soon after many trail and errors finally our great porters has put heads together to come up with this wonderful Droidpeez OS v1.0 for Tecno Boom J8 users the rom is wonderful and great.

÷ Prerequisites:
•This Android is meant only for Tecno Boom J8. Please do not try on any other One Tecno device.
•Your phone should have a custom recovery installed in order to install this Rom on your phone. TWRP 3.0.2 Recovery For Tecno Boom J8
•We will be using TWRP Recovery for flashing this Rom
•This Rom will wipe out all your data. Make sure you backup all your data in your phone before proceeding.
•Perform a Dalvik Cache wipe before proceeding from the Recovery Mode.

How to Flash The DroidPeez Rom On Your Tecno Boom J8
Step 1 –Download the Rom for your Tecno Boom J8 to your computer or device
Step 2 – Connect and mount your device USB memory on your computer using the USB cable.
Step 3 – Now copy/paste the downloaded Android 5.1 ROM zip file and Google Apps.zip files to your SD card. Make sure the files are in the SD card root (not in any folder).
Step 4 – Then turn OFF your phone and disconnect from the USB cable.
Step 5 – Now boot in the Recovery Mode. Switch ON the phone while pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together
Step 6 – Once you are in Recovery Mode, select perform a full data wipe by selecting “wipe data/factory reset”. Use the Power button to select everything while in the Recovery Mode.
Step 7 – Then, perform a cache wipe by selecting “wipe cache partition” .
Step 8 – Now this is optional, but it is recommended to perform a wipe of your dalvik cache as well. You will not get into boot loops or any other errors. From Twrp recovery, go to ‘advanced’ and then select “wipe dalvik cache”.
Step 9 – Then go back to the main recovery screen and select “install zip from SD card”.
Step 10 – Now select “choose zip from sdcard”. Using your volume keys, navigate to the Android 5.1 ROM zip file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation procedure should start now.
Step 11 – After the installation completes, go to “+++++Go Back+++++” and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now” from the recovery menu.
Your Tecno Boom J8 will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So, please wait. Your J8 should now have DriodPeez Os Rom installed on It! Go to Settings & About phone to verify.

The administrator have to recheck the rom it if it works properly.

ReplyDeleteQUICK FIX -Works fine for me exposed installer i just flashed the Zip file by TRWP

1. Home button It does not function till you click the right button(recent apps) then Home (circle)
2. 0 Notification displaed on notification bar _ till you install custom notification app from playstore otherwise it is the good rom,

ReplyDeleteIt's a nice rom but I noticed 2 major bugs... 1st it screen lock doesn't work and secondly... It doesn't have a notification drawer where I can slide down to read my notification..... Please if you can fix them... Fine or if there's another rom for the phone please share
