Production surpassed Breaking Bad, Top 1 in the database, momentarily
The Last of Us had an extremely positive debut among fans and became the second highest rated series on IMDb.
With just one episode , production even surpassed Breaking Bad (9.5/10) momentarily. As of this writing, The Last of Us is rated 9.4/10 in one of the largest online databases of entertainment industry products.
The achievement becomes even more impressive when we remember that the series is an adaptation of a game – the type of product that has generated frustration in the general public in recent decades.
The Last of Us debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with a 100% approval rating and had one of the highest viewing volumes on HBO since 2010 . HBO Max even suffered from instabilities on the day of its premiere thanks to the number of simultaneous accesses.
The question now is whether the sequel to this story will maintain the level of quality. There will be 9 chapters in the first season, with a total budget of US$ 100 million and scripts by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann.
It was also confirmed that the series will not create a plot beyond what is in the eponymous game.
Upcoming episodes of The Last of Us will debut on HBO and HBO Max weekly on Sunday at 10:00 pm ET.
