Actress Drew Barrymore revealed in a recent interview with People magazine that she would star in and produce a new Charlie's Angels movie alongside Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu (via ComicBookMovie ).
The idea was suggested by actress and screenwriter Mindy Kaling ( The Office ). And for Barrymore, returning to the franchise would not seem so much like a job, mainly because of the memories with loved ones:
“There are so many memories in there that it doesn't feel like 'the work' of making movies. It's like asking, 'Do you want to spend your life doing this? With these people?' Yes. I would show up. I really would. Because, you're talking about life experiences and time with people that are really important to you, and that's not work. That's a gift.”
Barrymore produced the hit Charlie's Angels (2000). In the film, the actress plays Dylan , who completes the trio formed by Natalie ( Cameron Diaz ) and Alex ( Lucy Liu ). The feature film won a sequel, As Panthers — Detonating , in 2003.
