YouTube began immediate blocking of all state-owned media in Russia around the world

YouTube has begun an immediate blocking of all Russian state-owned media around the world.

It is reported by Reuters.

YouTube also removes all content about Russia's war in Ukraine that "violates its policies." It also suspends all ways of monetizing its platform in Russia.

In an official Google statement on the company's blog on March 10, it said that the company is continuing to work "to significantly limit recommendations worldwide for a number of Russian state media on our platforms."

In particular, in Europe, Google is removing Russian state-owned media apps from Google Play, except for the previously removed RT and Sputnik.

"And as mandated by EU Council Regulation (EU) 2022/350, we have removed RT and Sputnik from search results in the European Union. As part of our standard process when we receive notice of illegal content appearing in search results and to ensure transparency such requests, we sent a query to the Lumen database," the company said in a statement.
