Japan has banned the export of almost 300 goods and advanced technologies to Russia and Belarus

 Japan has compiled a list of almost 300 goods and advanced technologies, the export of which to Russia and Belarus will be prohibited. The decision will come into force on Friday, March 18, writes the Japan Today newspaper.



The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan has included 266 types of goods and 26 technologies in the list.

It included, in particular, semiconductors, equipment for communications and oil refining, the latest types of materials, and among the technologies banned for Russia and Belarus were, for example, programs for machine tools that produce microchips.

In addition, Japan completely prohibits any business relations with fifty military organizations and enterprises in Russia and Belarus, including aircraft manufacturers and shipbuilding companies.

Japan announced the decision to impose these sanctions in the first days of the war in Ukraine. Now she has released the details of the embargo and the timing of its introduction.

Japan has previously imposed several sanctions against Russia. One of them provides for restrictive measures personally against Russian President Vladimir Putin and other members of the top of the Russian state.

Japan's sanctions also include limiting transactions with the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, freezing the assets of seven Russian banks in Japan and disconnecting them from the SWIFT system, and a ban on the issuance and operations with new bonds of Russian government debt in the primary and secondary markets.
