Samsung spoke about a curious feature of the upcoming S-series flagship smartphones. It turned out that the products that the company will show at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event will be partially made from recycled material.
According to environmentalists, along with plastic bottles and bags, more than 640,000 tons of fishing nets are thrown into the world's oceans every year. It was the extracted networks that Samsung used in the production of new Galaxy series devices, the presentation of which will take place this week. The company also said that this is only the beginning of a new strategy, since going forward all gadgets will be made from recycled materials, including ocean-caught plastic.
Back in 2019, Samsung agreed to use sustainable packaging for its devices to help improve waste management. In addition, the company has eliminated chargers from smartphones, which should also help reduce e-waste.
The presentation, scheduled for February 9, is expected to feature the Galaxy S22 line of smartphones and Galaxy Tab S8 tablets.
