Apple regularly updates MacBook Pro models, and a new 13-inch, 14-inch, and 16-inch MacBook Pro may be released in 2022. If rumors are to be believed, the 13-inch MacBook Pro could be out in the spring. There are still few rumors about more models, since they were updated quite recently - in October 2021.
In this article, we have collected all the rumors about the new 13-inch MacBook Pro. Apple last updated the 13-inch MacBook Pro in November 2020. It came out with the MacBook Air and M1 Mac mini. This year, Apple should update all three models.
Design
The design of the 13-inch MacBook Pro will not change, it will have the same body with the Touch Bar. The Touch Bar has been removed from the 14 and 16-inch models. However, not all rumors point to the presence of the panel. For example, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg claims that Apple will remove the panel.
The budget 13-inch MacBook Pro will not have a mini-LED display, nor will it support 120Hz ProMotion technology.
The main change for the 13-inch MacBook Pro 2022 will be the M2 processor.
Processor M2
Since the release of the M1 processor, Apple has been working on the next M2 processor. The M2 processor will have the same 8-core CPU as the M1, but its performance and efficiency will still be better.
There will be more GPU cores. 9- and 10-core GPU options will be available. The original M1 processor has 7 or 8 core GPU. The M2 processor will not be as powerful as the M1 Pro and M1 Max, which will be replaced by M2 Pro and M2 Max in the future.
The M2 processor Apple should also use for the MacBook Air 2022.
14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro 2022
The 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models were updated in November 2021, so there are few rumors about the next models. Most likely, Apple will not update the design of laptops, but they will have new processors.
It is not yet known exactly what to expect. It is possible that these models will run on M2 Pro and M2 Max processors.
Release date
Several sources, including the DigiTimes publication , claim that Apple will introduce a new 13-inch MacBook Pro at a spring presentation on March 8.
If so, then Apple will show the M2 processor in March. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg also wrote that Apple is working on a 13-inch MacBook Pro, but did not even give an approximate release date.
