The Chinese company Huawei ranked second in the global ranking in terms of investment in research and development (R&D), which is better than last year's result - then the giant was in third position. This is evidenced by the data of the Joint Research Center (JRC) of the European Union, which were prepared for the European Commission. “Huawei is now ranked second in the world in terms of private sector investment in research and development. The European Commission's Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard 2021 report is one of the most authoritative global studies of private sector investment in research and development. International cooperation in research and science is essential to ensure that the most innovative products and services are developed , ”commented Tony Jin, Huawei's EU head of state, on the results of the JRC study.
The report notes that a significant part of Huawei's research is carried out in Europe. The company organized its first research center in the region back in 2000 in Sweden. Huawei currently collaborates with over 2,400 researchers at 23 research centers across Europe. The company also maintains partnerships with over 150 European universities. The company believes that international cooperation in the field of research increases the competitiveness of the EU and contributes to mitigating the effects of climate change.
