ADATA announced the development of prototypes of ultra-fast solid state drives using the PCIe 5.0 x4 interface. The novelties will be on display during the CES 2022 consumer electronics show in early January.
In particular, devices developed under the Project Nighthawk initiative will be shown. These products are made in the M.2 2280 format and are equipped with a Silicon Motion SM2508 controller. The speed of sequential reading of information reaches 14 GB / s, the speed of sequential writing is 12 GB / s.
In addition, Project Blackbird solid-state drives are being prepared. These solutions also have the M.2 2280 format, but carry an InnoGrit IG5666 controller on board. Provides read speed up to 14 GB / s and write speed up to 10 GB/s.
Both new items have a capacity of up to 8 TB. The timing of the appearance of devices on the commercial market has not yet been reported.
CES 2022 will also showcase ADATA's new external solid state drive, the Elite SE920 USB4. This model provides data transfer rates up to 40 Gbps. A built-in fan is provided, which is responsible for cooling at high loads.
