A hydrogen-fueled airship can carry up to 150 tons of cargo

Startup H2 Clipper presented the concept of new hydrogen airships. The project can become an alternative to environmentally harmful aircraft and ships, making cargo transportation completely carbon neutral. Such airships will be able to carry 8-10 times more cargo than a conventional aircraft.

According to the developers' forecasts, each H2 Clipper will be able to lift up to 150,000 kilograms of cargo, for which 7,530 cubic meters of space will be available. The speed of the vehicle will be significantly lower than that of the aircraft, and will be about 282 km / h. However, even such indicators will allow him to move up to 10 times faster than cargo ships. The cost of transporting cargo will be four times cheaper than that of existing aircraft. The flight range can be up to 9656 kilometers, which will connect any two points on the globe with just one refueling.

The startup expects to create a fully finished version of the H2 Clipper by 2024, and put it into operation by 2026. With significant commercial demand, it is planned to launch about 100 such airships by 2030.
