NASA reveals mesmerizing photo of "Eyes of God"

NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope has captured a stunning new photograph of a giant nebula in the shape of an eye. This is the brightest and closest to the earth nebula, which is located 700 light years from our planet in the constellation Aquarius.

The nebula received the official name Spiral, but in the net it was dubbed the "Eye of God". The photo shows clouds of dust and gas, which spread in a diameter of two light years around the central white dwarf, and between them there is a region of deep vacuum. The dust makes the white dwarf glow reddish. These planetary nebulae form when a star such as our sun runs out of fuel: it begins to expand, its outer layers swell, and its core shrinks.

Spiral Nebula

The star in the image threw out a huge amount of its substance many thousands of years ago, and due to collisions, a large mass of dust was formed inside the resulting cloud. The same is expected for our Sun after 5 billion years. You can see the Spiral on a clear moonless night with binoculars. NASA also promised to publish photos of their favorite nebulae this month.
