“For millions of people, the ability to speak and be understood can be difficult due to diseases such as ALS, stroke, cerebral palsy and others. We are now inviting early adopters to test Project Relate, which is designed to help people with speech impairments communicate , ”Google said in a statement.

According to the description, the service now has two main functions. Listen converts the user's speech to text in real time. After recognition, the author will be able to copy and paste the text into any application. The "Repeat" option will allow you to reproduce what was said using a "synthesized voice".

The company is now recruiting members to test the beta. So far, it is being held in English only for residents of Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States. It is not yet clear whether there are plans to expand the list of available languages in the future.
