Twitter today revealed () a new way of presenting ads on the social network. From now on, advertisements will start to appear among the comments made in any publication.

This is another measure for a financial reinforcement of the social network Twitter. The novelty was, in fact, revealed by Bruce Flack, leader of the platform’s revenue department.

Starting today, we’re trying something different and testing a new ad format in Tweet conversations. If you’re a part of this test (which is global; on iOS & Android only), you’ll see ads after the first, third or eighth reply under a Tweet. 🗣 pic.twitter.com/kvIGeYt2vp

Advertising between comments is still in the testing phase

As Flack wrote in his Twitter post, this news will have practical effects from today. It means that, whether users like it or not, they will start seeing advertisements between the comments today.

This measure is, for now, in the testing phase for Android and iOS users globally. We still don’t have any indication if Twitter users on PC will also be confronted with this new feature.

As we can see above in Bruce Flack’s post, the ads are well integrated into the Twitter interface and more inattentive ones may not even notice your presence. In addition, they will only appear after the first, fifth and eighth comments.

This strategy demonstrates an additional concern on the part of the social network in the implementation of its advertisements. They do it reportedly as a source of extra income, but in order to disturb the user experience of their audience as little as possible.

As we experiment with this format over the coming months, we’ll focus on understanding how it performs and how it impacts the people and conversations around it. 🥼

By the way, Twitter expects to receive feedback from your users about this new advertising implementation. This exchange of impressions will serve to enhance the experience and make it even better.

The next few months will be experimenting with regard to layout, ad relevance, insertion points and other relevant parameters. It means that what we will start to see today may differ from the final result of this implementation.

What do our readers think about this new feature? Are you comfortable with including ads between comments?
