Land Rover unveiled the fifth generation Ranger last night. This generation of Ranger has evolved and is more like a facelift in front and side than a change of generation. But the rear view of this controversial luxury chassis has been designed and there is no news about the beautiful and attractive design of the previous generation behind this generation. The Bamoo V8 engine with 523 horsepower and the use of the latest technologies are the main features of this generation of Ranger.
Land Rover says he has tried to put simplicity on the agenda in designing this generation of Ranger. This is clearly seen in the smooth and even surfaces of the various parts of the body. Interestingly, changes in design style have reduced the aerodynamic coefficient of this large chassis to 0.30.
Inside the cabin, the addition of a large 13.1-inch display of the infotainment system can be considered the most significant change. Of course, the display behind the steering wheel is now 13.7 inches! At the rear, two 11-inch screens are installed to entertain the occupants; If you order ceremonial chairs for this part, an 8-inch touch screen will be added to the middle elbow.
This generation of Ranger in Autobiography trim is equipped with a 1600 watt Meridian audio system with 35 speakers and noise concealing technology so that the passengers can enjoy the pure sound of music to the fullest. It is not bad to know that if the customer orders, two 20-watt speakers will be installed behind the seats. These speakers convey a feeling similar to high-end headphones to the occupants.
The fifth generation Ranger is based on Land Rover's new MLA-Flex platform. This generation will enter the market in two standard versions and a long wheelbase, and the customer can order it with 4, 5 or 7 seats.
The list of engines of this generation of Ranger is very diverse and includes two rechargeable hybrid engines, 3 petrol engines and 3 diesel engines. Interestingly, the all-electric version of this generation is also in development and will arrive in 2024.
The most powerful trim of the fifth Ranger is known by the code P530. Powering this trim is a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine capable of producing 523 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. Not bad to know this engine is the famous Bamoo engine that works in several M series models. The engine's output is transmitted to all four wheels via a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is announced in 4.6 seconds.
All different trims of this generation of Ranger are equipped with four-wheel drive system and rear differential lock. The suspension of this generation is adaptable air type and has five connections in the rear axle. Like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the Audi A8, this Range Rover also benefits from a steerable rear axle. Relying on this feature, the Ranger 2022 rear axle wheels can be angled up to 7.3 degrees. This feature has reduced the turning radius of the new Ranger to 11 meters.
