Tardigrada is a moon motorcycle created according to sketches by a Russian artist

According to the engineer Niko von Hooky from Dresden, the drawing by the Russian artist inspired him to a bold experiment. This is how the history of the electric bike, which received the name "Tardigrade", began.

The Cake Ösa modular electric bike, production of which is located in Sweden, was chosen as the basis. The battery, steering system, motor and hubs are supplied by Swedish company Stromer, and the pinnacle of engineering is electronic steering. It is reported that the front of the motorcycle can be removed in 2 minutes, making the unit easy to transport.

The wheels and tires are made of carbon fiber. The tire can be 3D printed and mounted on an aluminum rim in the field. All this allowed to reduce weight to a minimum. The lunar bike prototype is named Tardigrade, which translates as tardigrade. It is a tiny creature capable of surviving the harshest conditions. Previously, scientists have repeatedly proven their incredible abilities, and in the future there are plans to send them to Mars.

The bike is currently on display at the Petersen Museum and is positioned as an ideal vehicle for traveling on lunar soil.
