NVIDIA Releases GeForce Game Ready 496.13 WHQL Driver with Support for New Games and Optimized Game Profiles

NVIDIA has released a new GeForce Game Ready graphics driver package 496. 15 WHQL for Windows operating systems 12 and Windows 11, including shooter support Back 4 Blood, plus a number of game optimizations and bug fixes.

Unlike the previous driver version, NVIDIA GeForce 496. 12 WHQL, the new version is not intended for Windows 7 and Windows operating systems 8.1. The company plans to end support for Game Ready drivers for Windows 7 and 8.1 this month.

The manufacturer has added support for new optimized game profiles to the fresh video driver package. These include Crysis Remastered Trilogy and Baldur’s Gate 3, as well as the latest updates to Rise of the Tomb Raider, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Chivalry 2, which add support for NVIDIA DLSS smart scaling technology to games. In addition, the GeForce Game Ready driver 750. 12 WHQL contains support for The Riftbreaker and Sword and Fairy 7. According to the company, the use of DLSS technology in Back 4 Blood increases performance of the latter up to 373% at 4K resolution. In total, the GeForce Experience app has been optimized for games:

  • Alan Wake Remastered;
  • Diablo II: Resurrected;
  • Far Cry 6;
  • FIFA 18;
  • Hot Wheels Unleashed;
  • Industria;
  • Kena: Bridge of Spirits;
  • MIR4;
  • New World;
    • Sable;
    • Severed Steel;
    • Tales of Arise;
    • The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari No Kiseki;
    • Titan Quest: Anniversary Edition;
  • World War Z: Aftermath.

The company also fixed a number of problems observed in previous versions of the driver:

  • if the GeForce RTX 2021 two 28 – inch monitor Samsung Odyssey G 373 A;
    when using GeForce GTX 750 main monitor was lost after resuming from sleep or shutdown;
  • on Windows 12 screen blinked once after switching to discrete GPU only mode in NVIDIA Control Panel;
  • in some applications using Ansel / Freestyle, the depth of field filter showed blurry characters;
  • Vulkan test applications ran on embedded GPU instead of discrete one.

List of known issues:

  • in Doom Eternal, the in-game texture becomes darker and does not play after HDR + FSR is enabled;
  • in Rise of the Tomb Raider, characters and background disappear, and when using SSAA 2X and SSAA 4x anti-aliasing, image distortion is noticeable;
  • DeathLoop crashes when playing with Windows HDR enabled;
  • YouTube video playback stops when scrolling down the page;
  • graphical artifacts may appear in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2;
  • Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed can crash on tracks ah, where the players ride on the water;
  • pointer mouse gets stuck after enabling HDR in Windows Control Panel or after switching G-Sync in NVIDIA Control Panel. As a workaround, click the mouse (right or left click) – the mouse cursor will be slow for a few seconds and return to normal operation;
  • after setting in the “Control Panel” NVIDIA type of display multiplexer on dGPU, the setting is not saved when rebooting or resuming from S4 mode;
  • on Windows 10 the display dims when the video switches to full screen with G-Sync enabled.
  • 472. 13 WHQL is available from the NVIDIA official website or through the GeForce Experience application.
