HUAWEI has released the new MateBook 14 (2021) Ryzen Edition laptop. A feature of this model is the use of AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors. Otherwise, it retains all of its key features, including a thin bezel screen, compact size and support for fast charging.
The MateBook 14 (2021) Ryzen Edition is available in two versions, with a choice of Ryzen 5 5500U and Ryzen 7 5700U. In both cases, 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB NVMe PCIe SSD are available. The rest of the characteristics are also identical.
The laptop has a 14-inch IPS-display with Full HD resolution and 100% sRGB color space. There is also a function to prevent blue light harmful to the eyes, and thanks to the aspect ratio of 3: 2, more information is displayed on the screen when working with documents and in the browser. The screen is touch-sensitive and supports various gestures such as three-finger swipe to quickly take a screenshot. The webcam is hidden in one of the keys, which guarantees protection against surveillance and allowed to keep the frames to a minimum.
According to the manufacturer, a 56 Wh battery is enough for 11 hours of video playback. There is also support for fast charging - 15 minutes from the outlet is enough for 2.5 hours of work. Of the interfaces, there are two USB 3.2 Gen 1, one HDMI, one USB Type-C, through which charging with a power of up to 66 W, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack are provided. With a thickness of 15.9 mm, the laptop weighs 1.49 kg.
The Ryzen 5 5500U version costs about $ 940, while the Ryzen 7 5700U version is priced at $ 987. The timing of the appearance outside of China will be announced at a later date.
