A major Chinese electric car manufacturer has announced the imminent release of the first true flying car. Xpeng plans to start mass production as early as 2024, and the new X2 looks like vehicles from science fiction films about the future.
Apparently, Xpeng plans to radically change the world of personal transportation, because outwardly the X2 is no different from a regular luxury car. It can travel on public roads and, if necessary, take off with the help of two giant propellers located on sturdy folding legs. Company representatives claim that the new product will go on sale in 2024 and will cost $ 157,000.
Xpeng has been storming the electric vehicle market for seven years now. The relatively inexpensive P7 has more range than Tesla's Model 3. Xpeng previously formed a subsidiary, HT Aero, with plans to take its electric cars into the air. Only within the framework of primary financing, it was possible to receive $ 500 million in investments.
It should be borne in mind that the portfolio of the Chinese company already has a working prototype of a flying car. It is touted as an ideal means of transportation from one part of the city to another. In theory, the aeromobile will be able to stay aloft for up to 35 minutes.
