Facebook bets more and more on the connection between people and for that it has just launched two new displays. Portal + for calls between a group of people and Portal Go which, thanks to a battery, can accompany you all over the house.
Both devices will be available from
of October. The Go portal will cost 170 dollars (about
euros) and Portal + will cost 501 dollars, ie approximately 300 euros.

Thanks to a built-in battery, this is Facebook’s first portable display. In other words, now the little device weighing about one kilogram can accompany you around your house as you travel. It’s even equipped with a strap, on the back, designed exactly for easy transport.
The screen has , 1 inch and offers a resolution of 1124×800 and the Wi-Fi connection allows you to connect it with the home network. It also offers access to the Spotify service, so you can listen to music through this device when you’re not on a video call. Just increase the volume of the two built-in speakers.
Facebook Portal + with rotating screen inches
It is the largest model of the portal line due to the 10 inch screen it offers a resolution of
x1280. The rotating screen can be rotated to the right or left, or up and down.
Portal + is able to show up to 25 people simultaneously in gallery mode, in a Zoom video call. In turn, the stereo speakers offer “high-fidelity sound for crystal-clear audio”, advances Facebook. megapixels follow the user as he moves. On the other hand, audio technology with Artificial Intelligence allows your voice to be heard by your interlocutor, regardless of the distance you have from the microphone.
Facebook has reinforced privacy features in the Portal line
As far as privacy is concerned, Facebook played the equipment well. In this sense, it placed cover for the objectives of the displays and an option to mute the microphones. More: the Artificial Intelligence technology of the Portal line cameras processes everything locally on the device, instead of on cloud servers.
The Portal line is also childproof, thanks to a screen lock that prevents the little ones from using the equipment without an adult around. Facebook also says that support for various WhatsApp devices will arrive in the coming months.
Also support for Microsoft Teams will arrive soon, specifically in December. And once available, it will allow you to use Portal displays to access calendars, contacts and shared files, as well as make video calls through the Microsoft Teams platform.
