A new report claims that AMD and MediaTek are evaluating the conditions for starting a partnership to establish a joint venture. This partnership will allow AMD to use MediaTek technologies. On the other hand, MediaTek also has a share of the laptop market and can have a good share in the laptop market in addition to the mobile market.
According to the Digitimes website , the partnership will focus on the integration and development of communication technologies such as Wi-Fi, 5G and even wired data transmission. If the's revenue-media partnership is successful, MediaTek's intellectual property on the system will be used on the revenue-generating (SoC) chips.
Sources close to the website say that the first result of this joint collaboration will be released in 2024. With this solution, Ayamdi wants to offer more attractive technologies in its special notebook chips. MediaTek has the most advanced communication technologies. Iamadi wants to work with the company to gain access to technologies that make it possible to compete with Intel.
Imedi and MediaTek have previously collaborated on the development of the Imedi Wi-Fi chip called RZ608. However, some reports have suggested that the Wi-Fi chip is actually the MediaTek MT7921K, which has been renamed. If today's report is correct, Imadidi could enter the low-end handset market with the help of MediaTek. However, neither company has yet confirmed the news of the partnership.
Samsung is also using AMD's RDNA2 architecture in its next Exynos chip, as sophisticated user interfaces, advanced encryption techniques, and versatile modern capabilities make smartphones require more power. The next Exynos will also support beam tracking and variable rate shading with this architecture. We expect the product of the joint collaboration between Imedi and Samsung to be released in the form of an Exynos chip in the first quarter of 2022.
