Apple is working on a new chip called the M1X that will likely be used on the MacBook Pro 2021. Another report also says that another chip called M2 is being produced with a 4-nanometer process, which has better power and optimality than the previous generation.
The "Ming-Chi Kuo," analyst TF International, chip M2 in the middle of next year, probably next on the MacBook Air used . With 4-nanometer lithography, this chip can increase the number of its transistors and therefore have more power and less energy consumption.
Both the M1X and M2 chips use 10-core processors. The M1 has 4 high-power cores and 4 optimum cores. It was said that the M1X could be equipped with a powerful 32-core GPU. But the M2 probably won't have as many GPU cores as the M1X.
It is unclear whether Apple will use the M2 chip for the iPad Pro 2022 as it does this year. The M1 offers a lot of power on the iPad Pro 2021 , although some software limitations have prevented it from taking full advantage of the device.
Earlier in April, it was speculated that the M2 chip would enter the mass production phase and launch in July. The same report claimed that Apple wanted to use the M1 chip to power the iPads. Currently, not much information is available about the technical specifications of the M1X and M2.
The Cupertinos are currently focusing on the iPhone 13 series, which will be introduced with the A15 bionic chip in about a month. The chip is made with TSMC 5-nanometer lithography. But the M2 chip could be Apple's first 4-nanometer chip to arrive before the A16 bionic with a possible 3-nanometer lithography.
