The Genesis G80 Sport was introduced with steering wheel technology

Luxury brand Genesis has added a new member to the G80 family. This newcomer member has a sporty suffix and, as can be guessed, has a more youthful and attractive design than its other brethren. The initial images released of the Genesis G80 Sport show that this version is distinguished from other models by several appearance features. Among other things, the chrome windshield has become a glossy dark color and the bumper now has sharper angles and looks rougher.

In the side view, we also see the use of dark chrome components, while the 20-inch alloy rings also have a special design and are dark in color to harmonize with other decorative parts of the body. Behind these rims, there are red calipers that, while contrasting with the dark color of the rims, are in perfect harmony with the body color.

In the rear view, the differences between the G80 Sport and other members of its family are less and less. In this part, the chrome components are dark in color and the shield has a relatively simple diffuser under it. This version of the G80 will be available in a custom color named Cavendish Red. It is worth mentioning that this name is adapted from the rocks on the north coast of Prince Edward Island in Canada.

Ever since the launch of the new generation of the G80 midsize sedan, there has always been speculation about the release of a sporty version of the car, as the previous generation had such a version and it was unlikely that the Genesis would eliminate it with a change of generation.

Inside the cabin, the Genesis G80 Sport 2022 will be delivered to customers as standard with a three-spoke steering wheel and dedicated aluminum or carbon fiber dashboard trim. The diamond-shaped patterns of the covers are also specific to this model, and buyers will be able to choose from three special colors.

Regarding the price and technical specifications, unfortunately, Genesis has not provided any information to the media at the moment and only mentioned that the G80 Sport will be equipped with steerable rear wheels. The G80 is scheduled to hit the market in the third quarter of this year.
