Tesla broke its quarterly sales record with more than 200,000 vehicles delivered

Tesla recently released sales figures for the second quarter of 2021. This statistic shows that the fledgling American automaker has performed better than expected and has been able to deliver 201,250 units of its products to customers around the world. Experts, meanwhile, predicted sales of 193,000 to 200,000 units for Tesla during this period.

With the delivery of this number of cars, Tesla has improved its previous record set in the first quarter of 2021. During this period, the company managed to deliver 184,800 vehicles. Tesla CEO Ilan Mask tweeted congratulations on achieving the new record despite numerous challenges.

Tesla broke its quarterly sales record with more than 200,000 vehicles delivered

An analysis of Tesla sales figures for the second quarter of 2021 shows that the majority of the company's sales are occupied by two Model 3 and Model Y cars, so that out of 201,250 cars sold, 199,360 were related to These are two models. The two more expensive S and X models also found a total of 1,890 new customers during this period.

But in terms of production statistics, the situation is even better and Tesla in the second quarter of this year reached a record production of 206,421 cars. Of this figure, 204,081 units are assigned to models 3 and Y, and 2,340 units are related to models S and X. With these records, Tesla seems to have surpassed another profitable quarter.

In a statement, Tesla noted the production and delivery of more than 200,000 vehicles and praised its staff's efforts to supply parts and overcome logistical challenges. Interestingly, the actual figures will probably be better than the ones added in this statement, as at the moment only the models in the statistics are in the hands of the customers and the registration of their documents has been completed. Hence the final figure may differ by 0.5% or more.

It goes without saying that Tesla emphasizes that car sales are just one of the factors influencing the company's financial situation, and other factors such as sales costs, foreign exchange and leasing are also influential. Therefore, one should not judge the financial situation of the second quarter of this year only from sales statistics.
