With Samsung registering a new "Flex Note" brand, the company appears to be working on a foldable mobile phone with S-Pen support to meet the needs of the Note series users.
According to reports, Samsung's next clamshell phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 3, will support the S-Pen. But in general, the pen is always an optional accessory of the device, which is rarely considered by manufacturers. Samsung registered the new Flex Note brand with the Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) on July 6, indicating that a clamshell phone will likely be introduced in the future.
Earlier, documents from the International Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) showed that Samsung was working on the development of a foldable tablet called the Galaxy Z Fold Tab. This device is designed to work as a smartphone and tablet and also supports the S Pen. According to some sources, one of Samsung's possible possibilities may be this device. The Galaxy Z Fold Tab is reported to hit the market early next year.
Of course, there is another possibility. It is unlikely that Samsung will seek to rename "Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3" to another name.
Samsung had previously filed other trademarks, " Z-Slide " and " Z-Roll, " which described the development of a roll-up phone and scalability. Of course, there is no information about the design of this device in the Z-Slide trademark registration certificate. Samsung also registered the " S-Foldable " brand in connection with the panels used in the company's clamshell phones.
By the end of this decade and 2030, clamshell phones and devices with rolling screens are likely to replace today's mobile phones, and we should expect a major change in the industry in the years to come.
