Beware: The Fake Windows 11 Version Can Destroy Your Computer

Following the success of Windows 10, at the end of June this year, Microsoft continued to release a version of Windows 11 with many added utilities.

Microsoft's new operating system has been so much anticipated, many users have flocked to the Windows Insiders program to experience and download beta versions of Windows 11.

However, researchers from Kaspersky have warned about fake Windows 11 installers containing a lot of malware targeting Windows operating system users.

Kaspersky detected an installable file called '86307_windows 11 build 21996.1 x64 + activator.exe', which is made to look like the WINdows 11 installation file. This 1.76GB file looks quite real. but all it has is a DLL file with tons of other useless files.

The program is designed so that many people mistakenly believe that this is an official installer from Microsoft. Photo: Kaspersky

However, once activated it will have an interface that looks like a genuine Windows Setup Wizard. After accepting all terms, the program starts downloading other apps in the background.

This file is so similar that there are license agreements for this program to install some sponsored applications to install Windows 11 on your PC.

If the user chooses "allow", it starts downloading and installing malicious files from the internet to steal data or compromise any software in your device.

Windows 11 will not be commercially available until the end of this year. Microsoft has also said that the Windows 11 upgrade will be provided free of charge to all devices running on the license Windows 10.
