In recent years we have realized that artificial intelligence can very well simulate our face and voice. Now Facebook has developed a new artificial intelligence model that can imitate, edit and replace digital texts with handwritten texts from just one word.
Facebook researchers have just unveiled a project called TextStyleBrush . Although most AI systems can copy and replace texts for specific purposes, they say, TextStyleBrush is able to reproduce texts in the form of handwriting. This is much more difficult for an AI model to do because it involves more components.
"This model can understand countless writing styles, not only in terms of calligraphy and calligraphy, but also in terms of various transformations, including rotation, curvature and deformations between pen and paper," Facebook said in a press release.
The TextStyleBrush model is the first self-monitoring AI model that can translate digital texts into scripts with just a single word photo. The tech giant says that in its experiments, it has observed high accuracy in this model.
TextStyleBrush AI works similarly to stylus tools in word processors, except that Facebook has abandoned the old ways. "We've taken a more holistic approach to our teaching method, separating content from the visual aspects of the word," says the company. "The apparent perception of the writing situation is then applied without retraining new examples of source style."
Of course, Facebook's AI model has its own limitations, and as the company acknowledges, TextStyleBrush still has trouble working with text written on metal surfaces or colored characters. On the other hand, Facebook has acknowledged that the dangers of this technology must be considered. The researchers say that if specialists can implement such models properly earlier than saboteurs, they will be able to more easily identify fake texts and build stronger systems to deal with them.
