Xiaomi has already proven that it can offer the best audio qualities on a smartphone. DxOMark itself says so, giving the manufacturer's equipment the first two places in its ranking: Black Shark 4 Pro (81 points) and Xiaomi Mi 10S (80 points), respectively.
But the manufacturer's most popular top-of-the-range 2021 seems to be a few nice holes down in this vein. This is because he got only 68 points in the tests, which put him on par with terminals like the OnePlus 8 or the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.
There is no need to misinterpret these figures. We have already tested the Mi 11 and its audio is of great quality, as well as the Note 20 Ultra. But it is clearly below another terminal that I tested most recently: the Asus ROG Phone 5 , which got 79 points in this same ranking.
According to DxOMark, the Mi 11 proves to be a “top of the range” audio level. Taking into account other branded products, the results are, however, considered “intriguing”.
The timbres, both in recording and reproduction, are less strong points of the Mi 11. It has few perceptible artifacts, and good sound amplitude from the speakers developed in partnership with Harman Kardon. Although the trebles are of high quality, the lack of bass and middle ends up being notable.
In recording, the tonal balance turns out to be positive. However, when recording at an electronic music concert, the artifacts in the sound were quite visible, and the audio ended up slightly muffled.
