The Zhurang Rover Successfully Landed On The Red Planet

Zhurang rover launched a new chapter of space exploration for the Chinese agency CNSA, landing on the Red Planet and landing at the mouth of Utopia Planetia.

The footprint of a Chinese robot on the surface of Mars has made China the third country to land safely on the Red Planet.

The Tiananmen 1 spacecraft, which has been orbiting Mars since February, leaves a protected capsule for the planet on Friday. The capsule contained the Jurang rover, which was able to reach the surface of Mars with the help of a parachute. China is the second country after the United States to explore its exclusive rover on Red Planet soil.

However, unlike NASA, which informs the world of various images and videos as soon as such an achievement is made, the Chinese National Space Agency has not yet shared any new information. Apparently, this is due to the Chinese government's caution in the event of a failed mission, lest it have a negative impact on Chinese political leaders.

The Zhurang rover landed in one of the largest craters on the Red Planet, Utopia Planitia. This place has underground ice and was once covered by the Martian ocean. Where there is water, life can probably be found. Like NASA's Perseverance spacecraft, Zhurang is tasked with exploring places and searching for signs of life in the past.

Not bad to know that Mars has been involved in unprecedented traffic for the past ten months. Three spacecraft, including Tianon 1, were launched to Mars in July 2020. The UAE-based Hope orbiter orbited Mars in February to study the planet's atmosphere. Shortly after Hope, NASA's new rover Perseverance and its famous companion Ingenuity landed on Mars and landed on an ancient lake bed that may once have been home to Martian life!
