Opel has unveiled a new concept called the Manta GSe Elektromod. This special concept is designed on the one hand to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the birth of the Manta model, and on the other hand, it intends to prepare the ground for the birth of the GSe brand. Electric models with sport performance are to be offered under this brand.
The Manta GSe Electrode is Opel's first electric product created with a glimpse into the past; This car is actually the result of combining today's modern propulsion with the body of a classic coupe.
You may know that the main mantle benefits from a 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine. But in the Manta GSe electrode, electric propulsion has replaced this engine; This engine consists of only one electric motor and is capable of producing 145 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque.
While most electric models do not have a gearbox, the Opel Manta GSe Electrode is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission to make shifting as enjoyable as ever. Of course, the driver can turn the fourth gear to automatic mode.
The power supply for the Opel Manta GSe Electrode is a 31 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Relying on this not-so-powerful pack, this concept can travel up to 124 miles (200 km), which of course is not at all comparable to modern standards. The latest German electric concept uses a standard 9 kW brake energy recovery system and charger. According to Opel, this charger charges the battery in less than 4 hours.
The use of a combination of yellow and black and the existing contrast has given a special effect to the Opel Manta GSe electrode. Most of the body of this concept is yellow, but the hood and dedicated 17-inch rims are black.
One of the interesting appearance features of the Manta GSe Electrode is the display mounted on the windshield. This display, which Opel calls Pixel-Vizor, can display various messages to people in the area! The concept taillights also have a round design to pay homage to the original model, but their structure is three-dimensional.
Like the exterior inside the cabin, we see the future and the past intertwined. In this part, the dashboard and door panels are as simple as the original model, but the panel called the Pure Panel hosts two digital displays. One of these screens is 12 inches and the other is 10 inches and is used to provide the information needed by the driver and control the infotainment system. This special concept is also equipped with a quality sound system made by Marshall Company (Marshall - this brand has two letters L and has nothing to do with Iranian Electronic Marshall!).
Alcantara roof and sports seats with a yellow center stripe are notable features of the Opel Manta GSe Electrode Concept Cabin. The steering wheel also has a yellow bar in the 12 o'clock position, following the seats.
Needless to say, as we mentioned at the beginning, the Manta GSe Electrode is actually the beginning of the GSe subsidiary brand; According to the agreements reached between Opel and Vauxhall, in the near future, electric products with sporty features - including an upgraded version of the Corsa-e - will be launched under this brand.
