A video published on the Chinese social network Weibo confirmed that the next Red Magic smartphone would arrive with a back panel equipped with electrochromic technology.
The video above shows that this top of the range will arrive with a dedicated button for this technology. With a simple touch, the user will be able to completely transform his smartphone's back, switching between the transparent option or different colors.
In the future, all smartphones could be real chameleons
This is not the first time that we have seen this technology applied to smartphones. A few months ago, Vivo published a video showing this same technology in one of its prototypes.
Electrochromic glasses allow you to change its color and transparency according to the applied voltage. In this way, all smartphones may start taking advantage of this technology in the future (certainly not very near).
Basically, manufacturers would no longer need to invest in the launch of smartphones in different colors. By launching a single model with this technology, it is then up to the user to decide which shade they want on their smartphone.
