Bethesda doesn't have many games as a service today, but fans of those games have started to ask themselves: what will happen to their support on PS4? Well, at least in relation to The Elder Scrolls Online, it will remain firm and strong.
After Microsoft announced the purchase of Bethesda Softworks , ZeniMax Online Studios, the studio responsible for the title, commented on the matter on Twitter . The developer’s director, Matt Firor, said: the game “will continue to be supported” on the platforms it supports.
I want to take this time to assure the entire community of The Elder Scrolls Online that the game will continue to be supported in the same way as before and we hope to continue to grow on each of the supported platforms.
However, the statement also leaves another doubt in the air: will the game really make it to PlayStation 5? In August, Bethesda announced the MMORPG and DOOM Eternal for Sony's next-gen console . For now, the port has not been canceled.
Regarding the future of The Elder Scrolls Online, ZeniMax plans to launch the next expansion of the title in November. The content called “Markarth” will offer a new area of exploration and an unprecedented history.
