If posture predominates in most social networks, on Twitter the norm is “unfiltered” opinions. Powered by the freedom of social networks, millions of opinions on topics more relevant than others come and go on the walls of the social network without any control over the vocabulary. Now, everything indicates that after the fake news, this could be the next checkpoint on the platform.
As confirmed by Twitter through its profile on the social network, an iOS test will soon begin on a new feature designed to discourage people from using “offensive or hurtful language” in their responses.
What will the offensive vocabulary control test be like on Twitter?
According to the explanation of the company, this solution will be activated by pressing the "Send" button after writing a message. Immediately, a recommendation will be displayed with a notice to check if a language that could be harmful is used . As stated by the global director of security and safety policies for the Twitter site, Sunita Saligram:
We are trying to encourage people to rethink their behavior and rethink their language before posting because they are often in the heat of the moment and might say something they regret.
When things get heated, you may say things you don't mean. To let you rethink a reply, we're running a limited experiment on iOS with a prompt that gives you the option to revise your reply before it's published if it uses language that could be harmful.

With this new measure Twitter intends to reinforce previously taken measures regarding hateful content on the platform, which according to its policies prohibits users from targeting people with insults , racist or sexist comments, or degrading content.
In 2017, Twitter began to censor profiles that published what the company considered “sensitive” content. Shortly before that, began temporarily banning "abusive" users , preventing their tweets from appearing to anyone but their followers.
Although the test is expected to be activated in the coming weeks, there is not yet a defined date. It has only been confirmed that it will be for iOS users and in principle only tweets will be reviewed in English.
The Twitter article will warn you if you use “harmful language” that was first published on iPadizate.
