There is bad news in regards to the arrival of technology Mini Led on iPads. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo , we will have to wait until 2021 to see an iPad that uses this technology. . Appleinsider reports that Kuo would have sent a note to all investors explaining the situation. Recent controls in the supply chain indicate that Mini Led supplier Epistar would start production of the panels in the third quarter of 2020 .
After the mass production of the Mini Led panels, the assembly would continue, which, being the last phase of the manufacturing of the devices, would last until the first quarter of 2021. According to the same Kuo , the list of devices that would make use of this technology would be long. Specifically, the iPad of 12, 9 inches , one iPad of 10, 2 inches , one 7.9-inch iPad mini , a iMac Pro 27 inches , a MacBook Pro from 16 inches and a MacBook Pro from 14, 1 inch .
The coronavirus crisis does not seem to be the culprit
In the information that the analyst has sent to investors, it is very clear that Apple does not foresee that there will be damages caused by the crisis of COVID - 19 . Verbatim Ming-Chi Kuo says:
“We believe that investors do not have to worry too much about the extension of the Mini LED program, because Mini LED is a key technology that Apple will promote over the next five years. Even if the short-term calendar is affected by the new coronavirus, it will not harm the long-term positive trend ”

Among the advantages offered by this technology are higher contrast ratios , more brightness and deeper blacks. All this avoiding burns on the screen so common in OLED panels and obviously with a much lower consumption . Kuo is convinced that shipments of Mini Led panels on Apple devices will grow by 300% in 2021 and a 225% in 2022.
