How to add widgets to iPad home screen

A little less than a year ago Apple presented a very important novelty related to the iPad, the Apple tablet was separated from the iPhone and iOS to start using its own operating system: iPadOS . It is likely that when Apple presents iOS and iPadOS 14 both systems are separated even more, however at present they already have many differences, and one of them is the home screen.

The iPad changed its home screen with iPadOS and now we have the possibility of having the widgets always present in the left area of ​​the first screen. These widgets can be very useful to us and work both as a reminder and as a direct access.

These widgets are fully customizable and many applications have theirs available, for example if you use Google apps, almost all have their own widget, and the same with others Important apps from the App Store. Set iPadOS Today View

If you have not changed anything, the home screen of your iPad will have the rows and columns of normal icons that have been present since the device was introduced in the year 2010 . However with iPadOS we have the option of having a column on the left with widgets that is always present. To activate this column of widgets, which Apple calls View Today, you must follow these steps:

• On the iPad main screen, swipe right to be on the first screen .


• Once you are in your first application sheet , swipe right again and the widgets will appear.


• Swipe down in the widget area until you see the Edit button .


• Now you will enter the configuration menu of View Today .


• Above all activates option that says Keep on the home screen .


• Now View Today will always appear on your iPad .

Very good and simple so far, now we already have the widgets always visible on the home screen of our iPad, and it is time to configure them to our liking.

• If you have exited to the home screen, swipe down the widgets again to go to Edit .


• In the edit menu we have 3 sections: Fixed favorites, Favorites and More widgets .


• The fixed Favorites will appear always on the home screen , the Favorites will appear when we slide down.


• By clicking on the three bars that appear to the right of each widget, we can move them between the different sections.


• Clicking on the “-” will remove them from this view.


• Below all we will have the widgets that are not active, clicking on the "+" will go to favorites .
