Apple has registered a new patent in which they describe what video calls of the future could be like using Memojis and augmented reality. And the idea is promising.
The patent in question is titled "Communication system and method of providing a virtual meeting room" and has been registered in the United States Patent and Trademark Office United under the number 20200143578.
We are talking about a kind of video call in the purest “Star Wars” style and its holograms. A video call in which the participants will be able to use avatars in the form of Memojis and will be able to see the movements of others and interact with them in the same virtual room.

This is how Apple sees the video calls of the future
The patent has been clearly devised after the rise of this type of video conference as a consequence of the unfortunate pandemic of COVID - 19. The patent describes a way to create a communication system that would recreate a virtual room for all participants in the video call.
"A method of displaying a virtual meeting space on the screen of a device and detecting biometric characteristics of a user."
Indicates how users could use Animojis and Memojis as avatars and how they could emulate all the facial movements of each user. But Apple doesn't define it as a more fun way to attend a meeting, but as a more effective way to improve communication.
“Winks and other gestures in virtual characters in a virtual meeting space could fabulously increase the person's empathy and perception.”
The patent has reminded us of those futuristic films of spaceships in which video conferences are carried out through holograms. Only instead, it would be on the screen of a mobile device.
