The article is a basic but important instruction.
How to Find AirPods or AirPods Pro Serial Number
1. Look at the case
Headphones and charging case have the same serial number. The number is indicated on the inside of the cover of the charging case in small gray print. Also, each 2nd generation AirPods and AirPods Pro earphones have their own serial number located directly on the earphone. In this case, the main number is the number on the case, you do not need the serial numbers of the headphones.
2. Using iPhone or iPad
In addition to the case, the serial number of the headphones can be viewed on the iPhone or iPad. And this method is more convenient. On the case, the number is printed in small gray print, so it is poorly read. For example, when I checked the number of my airpods, I mixed up a zero with the Latin beech O - the warranty number was not found. When I checked the number with an iPhone, I saw an error.
In general, finding your AirPods serial number is no different than checking iPhone or iPad numbers.
Important AirPods must be connected to iPhone or iPad. To do this: if the headphones are in a case, open the cover of the case, if the headphones are pulled out, you do not need to do anything (provided that you have connected the headphones to the device before).
Go to Settings on iPhone or iPad > General> About this device. Scroll down to the name of your AirPods. By clicking on them, you will see the model number, serial number, firmware version and hardware version.
3. View on box
Another serial number of the headphones is indicated on the box - on the lower part above the barcode: (S) Serial No. XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Important The serial number of the headphones on the box must match the number on the case. If the numbers do not match, then the box may be from other headphones. This is especially true if you buy headphones in unverified stores or with hands.

In my case, it was still necessary to confirm the date of purchase (perhaps due to an online order).
By serial number, Apple identifies the device and announces the warranty provided. For instance:
