Work computer "Apple 1" sold at auction for hundreds of thousands of dollars

With "Apple I" it all began. Extremely simple computer that did not fit ordinary consumers, because "who even needs a computer?". Now “Apple I” was sold at auction for hundreds of thousands of dollars, so what is the demand.

The Apple I work computer with accessories was already sold for $ 471,000 at auction in the UK. It was expected that the computer will buy for an even greater amount - $ 640,000. Previously, these computers sold several times for almost a million dollars, so this time the price is low. For ordinary people, this is how to buy your favorite soda with a 30% discount.

The original owner of the computer bought it in 1977 and donated to a non-profit organization in 2009. Several times he changed the owner, but eventually got to the auction.

Of the 200 computers released, about 80 are left. 15 of them are kept in museums, and the rest are in private collections. The whereabouts of some are still unknown.
