Just like the models released last year, iPhones of this year are expected to be released in two versions with AMOLED screens of 5.8 and 6.5 inches respectively, retaining basically the same design of the front of the already existing iPhone XS and XS Max . But the similarities between the current models for the new ones should stop there.
According to information released by the partnership mentioned above, the new device will have an improved Face ID system, which will make the device recognize the owner's face to unlock the screen from even more angles than the current iPhones, including some very close to the face, making it easier to use the function in places where it is not possible to move very much.
But the most notable difference between the new models and the current iPhones will be on the back of the device, with a new camera layout. In addition to the two lenses that already exist on the iPhone XS and XS Max, the iPhone XI will have the addition of a third lens: a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor that will take pictures in a 120-degree field of view. But, contrary to what the first rumors suggested, Apple will not introduce in this year's models optical stabilization on all three lenses of the device. The iPhone XI will have this stabilization only on the same two lenses that already exist in the current models, and Apple has decided that it will implement the third lens function (which will be introduced in this year's models) only in 2020 devices, which will be the first iPhones to own 5G connection.
The new devices will also have a change in the flash LED, which will be stronger and will illuminate a larger area, but will remain the same size as the current iPhones, and we can also expect a beautiful change in the "gap" of the cameras, which Apple promises to be the smallest in years. The company is also expected to make major improvements to the ISP that, according to the pair reporting this information, would allow the iPhone XI to take better photos than any device from Google, Samsung or Huawei available on the market today.
The device will also have some changes in the available colors, such as a less brilliant gray in stainless steel cases. The device will also gain improvements in the speakers, which will reproduce higher volumes at a better sound quality.
iOS 13
In addition to news about the new iPhones, the partnership also released some information on iOS 13. The main one was about the long awaited "night mode" system, which will focus on the use of dark gray (not black as it had been released by previous rumors), and this was a choice made by Apple to make it easier to implement the mode in other developers' applications.
It has also been revealed that the new version of the operating system will bring improvements to the virtual assistant Siri, who will come to understand more complex commands and will have a greater understanding of the context in which certain words with more than one meaning are employed. Other innovations will also be the introduction of intelligent management of RAM, which from the habits of the user will decide which applications will run as a priority, first loading the most frequently used applications every time the device is turned on and thus improving the user experience with iOS.
There are also rumors that Apple is working to make iOS 13 immune to jailbreaks, but that's the kind of thing we'll only be sure even after the release.
For now, there is still no specific date for when Apple will unveil its upcoming smartphones and operating system. Historically, the company usually makes these announcements in the month of September, so we should have even more months of rumors and leaks before they are officially announced.
