Vodafone unveils information on security holes in Huawei devices

According to Bloomberg, Vodafone Italy found that equipment used in infrastructures had serious security holes. These hidden backdoors gave access to the home and home networks of home users.

These security holes were discovered between 2009 and 2011 on Huawei's Internet routers. However, no evidence of compromised user data was found.

Most shocking is that these flaws and vulnerabilities continued in the following in the UK, Germany, Spain and Portugal. Exactly, our Lusitanian corner did not escape Huawei's security flaws.

It is speculated that Vodafone has continued to use the vulnerable equipment for the sake of cost savings. Nothing like saving a few euros and potentially compromising the integrity of infrastructures.

Huawei's reputation continues to be affected by these

You may be wondering why it is only now that this news has come to the fore, since the flaws were discovered 10 years ago. The truth is that at the time Vodafone states that this issue was resolved in 2011.

However, the year 2019 is being filled with controversies that do not favor Huawei. It has even been shared on Twitter recently that nearly a third of the countries making up the world's gross product have banned the Chinese manufacturer.

To make matters worse, 5G technology is on the way and countries are heavily scrutinizing Huawei for implementations. We already know that the United States, for example, completely banned the brand in equipment and infrastructures.

The UK, on the other hand, seems to have decided to give the 'arm twist' by allowing the use of Huawei equipment in non-vital parts of its infrastructure networks. Even so, things are not positive for the Chinese manufacturer.
