The most recent Android P custom GSI supports the fingerprint reader in the Xiaomi Mi 9 display

After OnePlus 6T, which is starting to receive the first custom ROMs with fingerprint reader support in the display, it's up to Xiaomi Mi 9, equipped with the same technology.

The credit goes to the XDA Recognized Developer phhusson which released a new version, 112 to be precise, of its custom GSI based on the Android P code AOSP. The GSI (Generic System Image) allows you to install a stock version of Android without any modification, taking advantage of the support for Project Treble.

The new release adds support for the Xiaomi Mi 9 optical fingerprint reader,  thus allowing a quick unlock as it happens on MIUI 10. Among the other new features of this version, we highlight the security patches of April, some bugfixes for the audio sector some smartphone with MediaTek chipset and allows the ROM to boot even on devices with Samsung vendor image of  Android 9 Pie.

You can test the new GSI by downloading it from this address, even if you have to consider the possibility that something is not working, being a generic image.
